Life with Meaning
Growing up on a family farm in Southeast Iowa, Gwen Thomas learned a work ethic that serves her very well. From a very young age, she also learned the value of integrity and the importance of being true to her word. Although she hasn’t followed her first career path of small engine mechanic, the ingenuity and attention to detail that came from that training are life-long assets.
Gwen has spent 30 years in nursing, graduating in 1992 as an RN with a BSN from Eastern Mennonite University. In 1996, she established Southern Coos Hospital’s Home Health Agency in Bandon, OR and managed it until 2005. Following that, as a certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse, she has worked in agencies in Florence, LaGrande, and Enterprise. In 2017, Gwen earned yet another certification, this time as an ACE Health Coach. This certification is the gold standard in health and fitness.
Gwen models this in her own life as an outdoor enthusiast, where she has done ultra-endurance challenges that include running, hiking, mountain climbing and backpacking. Gwen brings her skills acquired from a lifetime of learning and working with people in a variety of settings, and combines them with a compassionate, caring and targeted approach to the needs of those she works with. She is intentional about incorporating her faith in God in her own life through prayer and meditation on His word, and making what she knows to be true available to others. Based on her life experience and training, Gwen is passionate about seeing people become as healthy and active as possible. She knows this comes from lifestyle choices, and the services she offers provide the care and tools needed to make this a possibility. Based on her wide range of experience, Gwen is able to offer many services to clients.

“Like sun in the morning I know You’re gonna be there every day so what on earth could make me be afraid? Good God Almighty I hope You’ll find me praising Your name no matter what comes ’cause I know where I’d be without Your mercy so I keep praising Your name at the top of my lungs. Tell me is He good? (He’s good) Tell me is He God? (He’s God) He is, Good God Almighty”

“I’m not a warrior, I’m too afraid to lose. I feel unqualified for what you’re callin’ me to. But Lord with your strength I’ve got no excuse ’cause broken people are exactly who you use. So, give me faith like Daniel in the lion’s den. Give me hope like Moses in the wilderness. Give me a heart like David, Lord be my defense. So, I can face my giants with confidence. You took a shepherd boy and made him a King, so, I’m gonna trust you and give you everything. I’ll be a conquerer ’cause you fight for me. I’ll be a champion claiming your victory.”
