Years, eons actually, ago I decided I was turning old, so even though I knew very little about “it” I signed up to run my first race, a half marathon. Later that year I ran my first full marathon. I kept getting older, I kept running, I kept extending the distance, and all the while became submersed in each event. And, although each event, each challenge, brought satisfaction there is one other part to running that exceeds my own sense of accomplishment, that of aiding and abetting others to set their own goal(s), put in the training, complete the event, and succeed.
“Every Step of the Journey Is the Journey”. The training is often harder than the event itself. The finish line can induce post-event blues, and a need to sign up again. Whatever the distance, whatever the event, if you need help deciding, need a prod out the door, need support and a plan, I would LOVE to be a small part of your steps, and your success. It’s not about me, it’s about you challenging you.
*Today another friend completed his first marathon. Reaching a “bucket list” goal he’d set for himself years ago. This makes me so happy!*
